ARM Processors get faster Cambridge-based chip designer ARM is to increase the speed of mobile phones (like the Smartphone, which has an ARM CPU) with their new Thumb 2. Thumb 2 is an update on the company’s original Thumb instructions, a set of commands inside the ARM architecture. This means that tasks can be completed in less time and thus will consume less battery life. (Hurray!)
