Last night Sony Ericsson hosted an event for a few hand-picked press people in London. The new Xperia X1, which got a sneak preview on Monday, got a full work-out during the posh launch at Tent London.
We gave the handset, which we're following closely, the full hands-on treatment and our man Stuart Lock will be sharing his opinions shortly. His early view of the handset is that it perhaps didn't perform as quickly as it could, although it could be an early ROM build. Screen-switching speed wasn't too bad, although it is dependent on what you're doing at the time - watching a video and sliding the keyboard out took a little longer. The music and video apps performed well and received praise.
